5 killed, 1 injured in Vizcaya road accident

BAYOMBONG, Philippines â Five people were killed and one was seriously injured in a road accident in the northern province of Nueva Vizcaya on Saturday morning, police said. Initial investigation said the victims were on board an Isuzu Elf truck that plunged into a deep ravine along the national highway in the town of Diadi. In a telephone interview, Diadi police chief Senior Inspector Rogelion Garcia, said that truck was going down a steep road in Barangay Balete along the border of Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela province when it suddenly swerved and fell into the ravine. Garcia said all the victims were from the province of Isabela. He identified the fatalities as Carlina Albano of San Pedro in Tumauini town; Amor Ramos and Joey Tolentino, both of Ngarag in Cabagan town; Maila Domalanta of Osmeña in Ilagan;and Rodolfo Francisco of Dist.1 in Ilagan. The injured was identified as Analyn Sarangay of Ilagan. A passenger named Federio Albano of Tumauini was surprisingly unharmed, the officer said. Garcia said the truck was carrying fruits came from Pangasinan province and was on its way to Tumauini town in nearby Isabela. The bodies were brought to a mortuary in the border town of Cordon town in Isabela, he said. - GMANews.TV
