Fire razes Romblon town market


MANILA, Philippines — Millions of pesos worth of property were destroyed after a four-hour fire razed the public market in Looc town in Romblon province Monday night. A radio dzBB early Tuesday quoted Looc Mayor Juliet Fiel saying the fire started at the old portion of the market past 6 p.m., and was put out at 10 p.m. Citing intial reports reaching her, the mayor said no one was reported injured but the fire destroyed the entire market. Looc firefighters are now verifying information that an electrical short circuit caused the fire, the biggest so far this year in the town. - GMANews.TV
