Slain hostage-taker's body remain unclaimed in Pangasinan


MANILA, Philippines - The body of the slain hostage-taker in Sual, Pangasinan remains unclaimed. On Friday, Narciso Mandapat held five-year-old John Cris Navarro hostage for 12 hours in an abandoned house in Barangay Poblacion in Sual. But according to GMA’s Flash Report, nobody has yet to claim hostage-taker’s body at the Jopet Sabido Funeral Home in the same town. The report said that none of the suspect’s relatives confirmed whether they will claim the body or not. If unclaimed, the municipality of Sual will be bury Mandapat in a public cemetery, officials were quoted saying. The young victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Alaminos Doctors Hospital due to knife wounds on the right side of his neck and on his back that Mandapat inflicted after negotiations for his surrender failed. Details about the rescue of the boy and the killing of the hostage-taker were still unclear.
