State university dean killed in Cagayan ambush

A dean of a state university in Cagayan province was killed in an ambush Tuesday night, and that the police are not discounting politics as a motive in the attack. Radio dzXL on Wednesday cited initial reports identifying the victim as Professor Rose Abad, dean of the Cagayan State University in Tuguegarao City. She was the daughter of Gonzaga Mayor Rosendo Abad. Initial investigation showed that the victim was going home when armed men fired on her van at 8 p.m. in Barangay Dalaya in Buguey town.
