Report: Van carrying PCOS machines falls into ravine in Quezon

A freak accident delayed the delivery of Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines and other election materials after a van transporting them fell into a shallow ravine in Quezon province Saturday. Radio dzXL reported the van was also carrying ballot boxes and battery packs when it fell into the ravine in Bulagsong village in Catanuan town. Initial investigation showed the van (EAB-545) driven by one Jadesel Hernandez went out of control while crossing a narrow road. The vehicle fell into the three-meter-deep ravine. A team from the Army's Catanauan-based 74th Infantry Battalion rushed to the site and transferred the election equipment to an Isuzu truck (REP-910). — LBG, GMANews.TV
