Zambales mayor’s brother shot dead

Unidentified men shot dead a brother of a town mayor on the national highway in Iba town in Zambales province. A report on dzXL radio said police are still looking into the motive behind the late Thursday killing of Victor Yap, brother of Botolan town mayor Rogelio Yap. Initial investigation showed the victim was driving his Mitsubishi vehicle and was passing through Palanginan village in Iba when the suspects aboard a van opened fire on him. The victim succumbed to at least four gunshot wounds in the head. For his part, Mayor Yap called on the Philippine National Police to solve the case soonest, saying there are many witnesses to the crime. — LBG, GMANews.TV
