5 kilos of shabu seized at Masbate port; 2 suspects arrested

At least five kilos of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) were seized and two women arrested in an anti-drug operation in Masbate province Wednesday. Radio dzRH reported Wednesday night the joint police-military operation stemmed from a tip that the drugs were to pass through the province's port. The five kilos of shabu were seized at the Masbate Port area in Masbate City at about 10 a.m. Now undergoing questioning by Masbate police are two women suspects, who allegedly brought in the boxes containing the shabu aboard a roll-on-roll-off (RORO) vessel. The report said police are trying to trace the route taken by the two women in bringing the shabu shipment. — LBG, GMANews.TV
