BUTUAN CITY — Three people were killed when a motor bike they were riding slammed a parked truck loaded with scrap iron before dawn Saturday in Libertad village in this city. Police identified the fatalities as Ronald Napare, 26, resident of Barangay Obrero; Glaida Guitirigan, 18, resident of New Asia, Barangay Port Puyohon – all from the city. Also killed was the motorbike driver who was not immediately identified. A police report said the motorcycle crashed into a six-wheeler truck parked on a side of the national road in Purok 6, Barangay Libertad. The victims were heading to Buenavista town in Agusan del Norte when the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. They were all declared dead by attending physicians when they arrived at a hospital here, police said. One of the witnesses, a certain Marlon, claimed the truck had flat tire and parked on the road side around 11 p.m. Friday, adding that the parked vehicle had not installed an early-warning device. Sources said the victims came from a resto-bar and were heading for Buenvista’s beach resort. — Alden Pantaleon Jr. /LBG, GMA News
