Police identify suspects in killing of UPLB student

The Laguna police identified on Wednesday three suspects in the killing of University of the Philippines-Los Baños agriculture student Ray Bernard Peñaranda.

The Los Baños municipal government said local cops have named Tyronne Kennedy Terbio as the person who killed Peñaranda by stabbing the victim last Sunday.

Authorities also identified Carl Dactil de Guzman as the driver of the motorbike that was used during the crime, and Joseph Beltran as the lookout, who is now under police custody.

According to the Los Baños municipal government Facebook page, suspect Terbio already had a standing warrant of arrest for robbery prior to Peñaranda’s killing.

Pictures of the suspects have already been posted on the local government unit’s Facebook page.
Peñaranda was robbed and stabbed dead near the UPLB campus last Sunday. The victim’s killing is the third criminal incident near the campus in five months.

In October 2011, UPLB student Given Grace Cebanico was raped and killed. Earlier this month, Los Baños National High School student Rochel Geronda was found murdered in a junkyard.

A P250,000-reward has already been offered for any information that may lead to the arrest of the two suspects in the killing of  Peñaranda. — with Andreo Calonzo/LBG, GMA News
