Fire hits Cavite resort

A fire of undetermined origin hit a function room of a resort in Kawit town in Cavite province Sunday night.

 

No one was initially reported injured in the fire at the Island Cove resort in Kawit, radio dzBB reported early Monday.

 

The fire damaged a function hall in the resort even as arson investigators have yet to determine the extent of the damage to property.

 

Initial investigation showed the fire started at 7:35 p.m. and reached the fourth alarm before it was put out at 9:47 p.m.

 

Arson investigators are determining the cause of the fire.

 

Sunday night's fire came on the last weekend of Fire Prevention Month, where the public was asked to take precautions to prevent fires due to the summer heat. –KG, GMA News
