Carcar mayor's son shot dead at disco in Cebu province

A gunman shot dead the son of a mayor in Cebu province while the victim was attending a disco and concert in Carcar City early Sunday.

 

Police are now looking for leads on the gunman who shot Carl Vinson Apura, 24, son of Carcar Mayor Nicepuro Apura, radio dzBB reported Monday.

 

The report said the incident occurred before dawn Sunday at Valladolid village in Carcar City, while the victim was attending a disco that was part of the city's fiesta.

 

Carl Vinson, the mayor's second son, sustained a gunshot wound on the left side of his head.

 

His friends rushed him to the St. Francis Hospital shortly after the shooting, but he was declared dead on arrival.

 

Investigators are gathering leads that may indicate the motive behind the shooting. –KG, GMA News
