Classes to remain suspended in some schools in Cainta and Taytay
(Updated 9:33 a.m.) - Tropical Storm Helen (Kai-Tak) may be leaving the country, but classes in some schools in Cainta and Taytay in Rizal will remain suspended until Friday.
Cainta Mayor Dominic Ilagan said the five schools are still serving as evacuation centers, according to a report by radio dzBB's Glen Juego.
Still suspended are classes in:
- Planters Elementary School
- San Francisco Elementary School
- FP Felix Unit 1 Elementary School
- Kabisig Elementary School
- Arinda Elementary School
Ilagan was quoted in the report as saying they are hoping the evacuees can return to their homes this weekend so classes can finally resume on Monday. Taytay schools
In Taytay, Rizal, classes were suspended in the following schools, a report on GMA News TV's News to Go Thursday said:
- Exodus Elementary School
- Bagong Pag-asa Daycare Center
- San Juan Elementary School
- Manuel Santos High School
- Genesis Daycare Center
- Pag-asa Elementary School Floodway B
Last week, several areas in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, including Rizal, were swamped by floods from an enhanced monsoon.
