A pregnant woman and her four-year-old son died after eating a dish of "lupoy" (young mackerel) in their house in Barangay Banago in Bacolod City last week, a Bacolod news site reported on Saturday.
Delia Jabel, 35, died at dawn Friday, three days after son Darwin, 4, died at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Visayan Daily Star reported.

The report quoted city health environmental sanitation department head Grace Tan as saying they will investigate the incident on what caused the food poisoning.
She said they are verifying information improper food handling, dirty water, or the staleness of the fish that could have caused the tragedy.
For his part, Jabel said he washed the fish carefully, but admitted the fish appeared stale.
Jabel said he bought P20 worth of lupoy fish in Puno Banago, marinated it with soy sauce and vinegar, and cooked and ate it for dinner with his family last Friday.
But hours later, his wife and children complained of stomach pains and started vomiting, prompting him to bring them to the hospital the following day. — ELR, GMA News
