NDRRMC: 26 hurt in Romblon jeep accident


At least 26 people were injured after a passenger jeep they were riding crashed while trying to climb a steep part of the road Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Wednesday.
 
In its 6 a.m. report, the NDRRMC said the incident occurred at 7 a.m. Tuesday at Barangay Paroyhog in Santa Maria town in Romblon.
 
The NDRRMC said the jeep (DVA-358), operated by one Ronald Sacapano, came from Calatrava town and was trying to climb a steep part of the road but failed and "tumbled" down the road.

Six of the injured were brought to the regional health unit in Santa Maria, while 17 were brought to Don Modesto Formilleza Sr. Memorial Hospital in Looc, Romblon.
