Cops probe death of two men along Mt. Makiling hiking trail

Police in Laguna are investigating the death of two men whose decomposing bodies were found along the hiking trail of Mount Makiling inside the University of the Philippines Los Baños campus Thursday.

 

Laguna police head Senior Superintendent Fausto Manzanilla said a group of hikers chanced on the bodies near the flat rocks area, radio dzBB reported early Friday.

 

The two men appeared to be in their 20s, and were wearing short pants. They bore bruises and cuts, with police not discounting they could have undergone hazing.

 

Police are still verifying if the two are students of UPLB.

 

Investigators are also not discounting the possibility of foul play, the report added.

 

On the other hand, the report said police are verifying information that seven men were seen in the area, and may shed light on the incident.  — ELR, GMA News
