CAAP suspends flying school for plane's forced landing in Bulacan

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines preventively suspended a flying school whose trainer aircraft made a forced landing in a field in Bulacan province Tuesday morning. CAAP director general William Hotchkiss III said the suspension will remain in effect while an investigation is ongoing, radio dzBB's Nimfa Ravelo reported. Suspended was the Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, which owned the aircraft (RP-C8220). Hotchkiss said the incident occurred at 10 a.m., when the Plaridel Airport tower received a position report and a request for a forced landing. The pilot, initially identified as Don Earl Hinayon, and his Indonesian co-pilot were not hurt. However, the plane's front part sustained damage in the forced landing. — BM, GMA News
