Police search for missing girls last seen swimming in the Pampanga River

Two girls are thought to have drowned in the Pampanga River in Apalit town in Pampanga, during a swim with friends Wednesday afternoon. Police searched for the two girls aged 12 and 13, as they were last seen in the deep part of the river, radio dzBB reported Wednesday night. Sketchy reports indicated the incident occurred at Barangay Sulipan in Apalit town. According to the initial investigation, the girls were part of a group of at least six who went to the river for a swim. Earlier Wednesday, at least five people were reported killed after a banca they were riding capsized in the Pampanga River Tuesday afternoon.
