Gas tanker catches fire in Laguna; 1 hurt


At least one person was reported injured after a fuel tanker caught fire along the South Luzon Expressway in Laguna province Wednesday night. The incident occurred near a gas station at the northbound part of SLEX in San Pedro in Laguna, radio dzBB reported early Thursday. Witnesses quoted by the dzBB report said they saw at least one person sustaining burns and being brought to a nearby hospital. Also, witnesses said at least one vehicle in the area was damaged when the tanker caught fire. Police are still investigating the cause of the incident. Just a week ago, tension gripped a neighborhood in General Trias town in Cavite City, also in the Calabazon region, after a liquefied petroleum gas tank exploded at an LPG refilling station on April 27. General Trias police head Superintendent Alfredo Dagani said there was no initial report of injury in the incident. — LBG, GMA News
