Pinedas, Arroyo lead electoral race in Pampanga


(Updated 12:46 a.m., 14 May 2013) With more than half of electoral results in, the local race in Pampanga seems to be going former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's way. Partial and unofficial results from the GMA News tally as of 12:24 a.m. Tuesday and 59.01 percent of electorial returns tallied so far showed Arroyo comfortably leading the vote for representative of the 2nd Legislative District with 121,644 votes. Her close political ally, reelectionist Governor Lilia "Nanay Baby" Pineda, was also leading with 399,890 votes against administration bet Fr. Eddie "Among Ed" Panlilio, who had garnered 99,977 votes so far. Independent candidates Joey Montemayor and Joe Ocampo bring up the rear with 4,170 and 2,847 votes respectively. Pineda's son and running mate, Dennis "Delta" Pineda, was ahead in the vice gubernatorial race with 319,311 votes. Panlilio's bet, Maria Amalia Tiglao, had 124,723 votes. Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) coach Yeng Guiao leads the race for the House of Representatives First Legislative District seat with 80,147 votes. -- Barbara Marchadesch/YA, GMA News
