Manny Maliksi wins Imus City mayoralty race
In a tight race, incumbent Mayor Emmanuel “Manny” Maliksi beat bitter rival Homer “Saki” Saquilayan for the mayoralty post of Imus City.
In an interview with GMA News Online, Imus Comelec officer Lalaine Diwa said Maliksi was proclaimed Tuesday morning.
The official votes obtained by Maliksi and Saquilayan, however, remained unavailable as of posting time.
But based on partial unofficial results representing 79 percent of the election returns, Maliksi
was leading the race with 42,000 votes against Saquilayan's 39,794 votes. Imus has a total voting population of 171, 889 according to GMA's Eleksyon 2013 data.

This is the second time that Maliksi and Saquilayan contested the mayoralty post in Imus.
During the 2010 polls, Saquilayan was proclaimed mayor but Imus Regional Trial Court Judge Cesar Mangrobang later annulled the victory, giving way to Maliksi’s assumption of office.

Last March, the Supreme Court en banc nullified Maliksi’s victory only to reverse its decision and remanded the case back to Comelec. — Rouchelle R. Dinglasan/RSJ, GMA News
