Mindanao university clerk abducted in Zamboanga City

A personnel of the Western Mindanao State University was abducted by armed men outside his house in Zamboanga City at about 7:50 p.m. Saturday, a police report said.

Philippine National Police Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac identified the victim as Alrasid Rojas, 56, a clerk of the WSMU-Islamic Studies Department.

Citing reports, Sindac said the victim was inside his house on Amping Drive in Barangay Campo Islam when he received a text message telling him to go outside.

Rojas then went outside his home and four armed men, wearing military uniforms, immediately handcuffed and dragged him towards the shoreline, where four more armed men were waiting on-board a motorized pump boat, he added.

Sindac said PNP's Special Action Force, Martime, Philippine Navy and the Philippine Coast Guard operative have been ordered to intercept the suspects. — with Amanda Fernandez /LBG, GMA News
