1 killed in motorcycle-truck collision in Atimonan town

A motorcycle rider was killed after figuring in a collision with a 10-wheeler truck at an accident-prone area in Atimonan town in Quezon province before noon Saturday.

The accident occurred at 11:35 a.m. in Atimonan's Barangay Malinao, dzBB's correspondent Peewee Bacuño reported.

Police are verifying initial information indicating the motorcycle was speeding when it slammed the 10-wheeler truck heading for Bicol.

Only last Wednesday, at least one person was killed while 18 were injured after a bus-truck smashup also in Atimonan.

Killed in Wednesday's accident was the driver of the bus, which was heading north from the Visayas.

Injured and rushed to a nearby hospital were at least 18 people, six of whom were unconscious and described as in critical condition.

An initial investigation showed the truck was delivering vegetables and heading for Bicol from Sariaya town in Quezon.

On Thursday, a couple was killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a tanker truck in Candelaria town in Quezon province. — LBG, GMA News
