1 dead, 14 hurt in Zambo Norte as rain causes river overflow - Red Cross


A person was killed while 14 others were injured with one missing in Zamboanga del Norte province after rains caused a river to overflow, the Philippine National Red Cross said Tuesday evening. In posts on its Twitter account, the Red Cross also said 57 families or 217 people were affected by the floods and were forced to stay temporarily along the highway. The Red Cross said the areas affected by the flooding were the barangays of Tipan, Sibalik, Panganuran, Patagan, and Canupung in Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte. Around 57 families or 217 people live in these villages. But as of 10 p.m. Tuesday, it said the flooding had subsided. With the improving weather, some families were able to return home as of 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. — DVM, GMA News
