Bus driver in deadly Palawan road accident now in police custody

The bus driver who figured in a deadly road accident that killed at least seven people in Palawan on Monday is now in police custody and is undergoing questioning.

The driver of the roll-on roll-off bus, initially identified as Joel Adion, turned himself in to police, radio dzBB's Palawan affiliate James Viernes reported on Tuesday.

On Monday, the bus driven by Adion hit an Innova-type Asian utility vehicle in Puerto Princesa City. All seven passengers of the AUV were killed.

The fatalities included the son of the city's provincial administrator and the daughter of a former lawmaker.

Injured were at least 12 passengers of the RORO Bus Transport unit, the report added.

The police in Puerto Princesa City are eyeing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide against Adion, Viernes reported. - VVP, GMA News
