DepEd: Career assessment exams postponed in six flood-affected Luzon areas

The Department of Education (DepEd) is postponing the National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) for August 28 to September 11 in six regions in Luzon, a week after they were affected by heavy monsoon rain and floods.

In a news release, the DepEd said the postponement covers Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Cordillera, and Metro Manila.

"Official notices are currently being sent to the concerned regional and division offices by the National Educational Testing and Research Center (NETRC)," it said.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council indicated 37 areas had been declared under a state of calamity in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central and Southern Luzon, Metro Manila, and Cordillera due to the floods.

The NCAE assesses students’ aptitudes and skills, and estimates the fields they can excel in.

It is non-discriminatory for people who have aptitude for technical-vocational and entrepreneurial courses. VVP, GMA News
