Rain from Tropical Storm Nando (international name Kong-Rey) triggered a landslide in Baguio and prompted the evacuation of 20 families in Benguet Wednesday, disaster management officials said. In its 6 p.m. update, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the landslide occurred at 6:10 a.m. at Camp 8 in Bontoc Village in Baguio City. No one was initially reported hurt in the landslide and no familes were affected. Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said 20 families or 49 people from Sitio Mamuyod in Barangay Ambassador in Tublay town in Benguet were preemptively evacuated from their homes due to the ill weather. It also said that as of 8 a.m., Binga Reservoir opened Gates 3 and 4 to release excess water. According to NDRRMC numbers the death toll from Nando remained at a single person, while having affected 570 families or 2,749 people.
