PAGASA: Binga Dam keeps one spill gate open

Binga Dam in Benguet on Monday continued to keep one spill gate open to let out excess water, even as state weather forecasters said isolated rain may fall over parts of the country.

PAGASA's 6 a.m. Tuesday update indicated Binga kept one gate open at 0.5 meter, narrower than the 0.6 meter on Monday morning.

It said Binga's water level as of 6 a.m. Tuesday was at 574.29 meters, slightly higher than the 574.18 meters recorded on Monday.

Binga's high water level is 575 meters.

On the other hand, PAGASA said Ambuklao Dam, also in Benguet, had closed its spill gates.

For Tuesday, PAGASA said a low-pressure area is approaching the country from the east. It said isolated rain may fall over most of the country. —KG, GMA News
