Fire razes 20 houses in Cebu, 3-year-old boy hurt

A three-year-old boy was injured in a fire that razed a residential area in Cebu City Friday afternoon.

 

The boy suffered first-degree burns in the fire that destroyed at least 20 houses in Sitio San Antonio, radio dzBB's Jasmin Vailoces reported Saturday.

 

Initial investigation showed the fire started at 5:14 p.m. at the house of one Bebeth, and reached Task Force Alpha before it was placed under control at 5:38 p.m.

 

The fire spread quickly as the houses were made of mixed materials. Firefighters had a hard time getting to the fire due to narrow passageways.

 

Arson investigators estimated the damage to property at P150,000 but are still determining what caused the fire. – KDM, GMA News
