Classes in Cebu public schools to resume Nov 4; Tagbilaran classes suspended 'indefinitely'

(Updated 4:01 p.m.) Amid the devastation brought by last week's magnitude-7.2 quake on Central Visayas, classes in public schools in Cebu province will be suspended until Nov. 3.
In a post on its social media account, the provincial government said the administrators of private schools will make their own announcement on the matter.
"Classes in Cebu province will resume on Nov. 4 for public schools. The respective administrators of the private schools will make the announcement for their schools, Dr. Arden Monisit, Schools Division Superintendent, DepEd Region 7," it said in a post on its Facebook account Sunday afternoon.
In Cebu City, Mayor Michael Rama made a similar announcement for public schools in the city, the Central Visayas unit of state-run Philippine Information Agency reported.

Bohol
Meanwhile, in Bohol, the PIA-Bohol reported Sunday afternoon that Tagbilaran City Mayor John Yap II announced classes in all levels in the city are "suspended indefinitely."
However, the DepEd said:
Cebu and Bohol are among the areas hit hardest by last week's quake.
Authorities had suspended classes to allow for inspections of the school buildings. — LBG, GMA News
