DPWH advises Bicol travelers of rerouting near CamSur bridge

Motorists and commuters passing through Daang Maharlika in Pili, Camarines Sur may have to follow a rerouting scheme as the bridge there has been closed, the Department of Public Works and Highways said Wednesday.

It crosses Barangays Grijalvo, Beberon, Lupi (San Fernando); Barangays Antipolo, Hobo (Minalabac); Barangays Sto. Nino, Ombao, Panoypoyan, San Roque, Sto. Domingo (Bula); out to junction of Daang Maharlika at K0454+200, Pawili (Pili), and vice-versa.

The Milaor–Minalabac–Pili Road allows light vehicles only due to a 100 lineal meter one-lane road section in Malitbog.

It starts from the intersection of Daang Maharlika at K0432+900 passing Barangays Amparado, Borongborongan (Milaor); Barangays San Francisco, Malitbog, Mataoroc (Minalabac); and Barangays Tagbong, out to the junction of Daang Maharlika at K0450+900, San Isidro (Pili, Camarines Sur), and vice-versa.

The Palestina–Minalabac–Pili Road is also limited to light vehicles due to the one-lane road section in Malitbog.

It runs from the intersection of Daang Maharlika at K0443+500 to Barangays Palestina, San Antonio of Pili; Barangay Maydaso (Milaor); Barangays Malitbog, Mataoroc of (Minalabac); Barangay Tagbong, out to the junction of San Isidro(K0450+900) (Pili), and vice-versa.

Earlier, the DPWH Camarines Sur second district engineering office reported to DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson it had issued traffic advisories along Daang Maharlika.

Bridge expansion

The DPWH said the old two-lane bridge will be expanded into four lanes, with a length of 65.25 lineal meters and with a width of 16.84 lineal meters.
