Bulacan police arrest mother for stabbing, burning 4 children

Police found stab wounds on four children who were burned in a house fire in Meycauayan City in Bulacan, prompting the arrest of their mother, who is believed to have started the fire to cover up the crime.

 

According to a report in "24 Oras" aired Sunday evening, investigators were called in after the bodies were found arranged on a bed. 

 

"Yung mga victims, yung mga cadaver ng victims, dikit dikit siya...parang natutulog lang [kaya] baka merong foul play," PO3 Rafael Briñoza of the Camalig police station said.

Crime scene investigators soon found out that the children had been stabbed.
 

Police said the suspect, who had been previously confined in a mental hospital, may have committed the crime out of anger at her husband and his relatives.

 

"Hindi ko pinagsisisihan. Bakit ko pagsisisihan 'to? Ang dami dami namang kasalbahihan sa amin," the suspect said on the "24 Oras" report. "Niligtas ko pa nga yung mga anak ko, eh," she also said.

 

The suspect faces a parricide charge but will also be sent to a specialist to find out whether she has psychiatric problems, the report said.
