BFAR lifts red tide alert in 2 Pangasinan towns
Residents in two areas in Pangasinan province can now collect and eat shellfish again after the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources lifted the red tide alert there.
A report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday said the BFAR deemed Bolinao and Anda in Pangasinan red tide-free, adding the shellfish caught there is now safe for consumption.
Local residents were elated over the announcement as shellfish is usually in high demand during the Holy Week.
The report said the two areas have had red tide toxin for more than one month. —Joel Locsin/KG/TJD, GMA News
