3-year-old boy dies in Bataan road mishap

A three-year-old boy was killed in a freak accident where he was run over by an owner-type jeep while crossing the street in Balanga City in Bataan last Saturday. Radio dzRH reported that the boy, initially identified as John Mark Talastas, did not reach the hospital alive despite efforts by the jeep driver to rush him there. It said the incident occurred at Sitio Bani in Cataning village in Balanga City at about 4 p.m. Saturday. Police investigators said Patricio Sangcal, 61, was driving his owner-type jeep (CDZ-391) when the boy suddenly crossed the street. Sangcal said he slammed on the brakes but still hit the boy. He said he brought the boy to a nearby hospital but the boy died while on the way there. - GMANews.TV
