Bacoor police seek more evidence in death of woman found in vacant lot
The investigation into the death of a woman found half-naked in a vacant lot in Bacoor, Cavite on the morning of April 27 is still ongoing, local police said.
The body of Darenclin Vito Bosea, 22, was found at the ACR compound in Soldier Hills IV subdivision. She reportedly died of strangulation and was found with multiple stab wounds.
In an interview with GMA News Online, Supt. Rommel Estolano, chief of the Bacoor police, said a suspect was arrested but was later released due to lack of evidence. He said the suspect will be subject to further investigation while police gather more evidence.
In a separate interview, a source familiar with the case said Bosea was seen on CCTV footage entering the subdivision around midnight.
A witness who lives near the lot where the victim's body was found heard screams and sounds of a struggle at around 2 a.m., the source also said.
The autopsy found no signs that the victim was raped, although the source said it was likely that there was an attempt to do so.
