Tripped transformer cuts power in parts of Cebu City

A power transformer in Cebu tripped on Monday afternoon, causing a power interruption in parts of Cebu City, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines said.

In a post on its Twitter account, the NGCP said it is working to restore transmission services to Cebu Electric Cooperative 2 (CEBECO 2).

Citing initial reports, it said the 10MVA transformer at Danao Substation tripped at 2:23 p.m. NGCP did not immediately give a timetable on when power will be restored. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
