1 killed, 20 hurt as truck crashes into house in Taytay, Rizal

A man was killed while at least 20 were injured after a 10-wheeler truck loaded with sand crashed into three houses in Rizal province early Tuesday.

 

The truck crash occurred at Tikling in Barangay Dolores in Taytay, radio dzBB's Glen Juego reported.

 

Killed was the family patriarch initially identified as Domingo Francisco, who was declared dead at 8:48 a.m., the dzBB report said.

 

It added one of the family members, a child, was in critical condition.

 

The accident occurred at Dolores Highway at the boundary of Taytay town and Antipolo City.

 

The injured were rushed to the Taytay General Hospital for treatment.

 

An initial investigation showed the truck (ZRL-306) was negotiating an upward slope at Tikling when it started to skid backward and crashed into the houses. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
