Norwegian nabbed for child porn in Olongapo

Police on Thursday arrested a 61-year-old Norwegian for allegedly engaging in child pornography in Olongapo City in Zambales.

The Philippine National Police's Anti-Cybercrime Division arrested Hoverstad Torgeir at the fourth floor of the Crown Peak Apartelles.

A PNP news release said Torgeir was arrested when a police team led by Superintendent Rogarth Campo served a search warrant issued by Olongapo Judge Richard Paradeza for violation of the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.

Police found in his room several sex toys and "numerous nude photographs of seemingly minors," the PNP said.

The search and arrest stemmed from the complaint of two residents of Olongapo City, both aged 15, who claimed Torgeir sexually harassed and abused them.

Both complainants claimed the suspect, who they identified as "Thorn," abused them at least thrice between March to April this year.

Recruitment

Further investigation showed Torgeir, aside from possessing child pornography materials, also recruited girls younger than 18 by pretending to be a filmmaker.

Torgeir would then allegedly have the girls pose naked in exchange for money before sharing the photos through cell phones.  He would also allegedly upload the pictures for profit online for other pedophiles to see. —Joel Locsin/NB, GMA News
