Rain floods Davao City, some areas impassable to light vehicles

Hours of rain midnight Saturday flooded some areas of Davao City. According to a post on the city government's Facebook page, areas where flooding had left streets impassable to light vehicles were:

• Matina Crossing,
• GSIS Landbank, particularly the public market,
• Bangkal SPED, and
• Flores Village.

National weather service PAGASA had issued a rainfall advisory Saturday, warning of "light to moderate with occasional heavy rains" affecting parts of Bukidnon, Compostela Valley (Mangayon, Olaycon), Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur (Bansalan), Davao Oriental (Banay-banay, Tarragona), Cotabato (Kabacan, Pikit), Lanao del Sur (Matalin), Maguindanao (MSU, Talayan, Tunggol) and nearby areas.
