Family of 6 in Antique ‘possessed’ by evil spirits

Police in Antique province are keeping watch over a house where six members of a family have reportedly been possessed by evil spirits.

Relatives of the "victims" said the six started acting strangely after they angered local spirits by cutting down a tree, GMA Iloilo stringer Peter Zaldivar reported.

The report said the six, residents of Barangay Abaca in Tobias Fornier town, included two girls aged 14 and 19, and their mother.

It said the six would shout and lunge at "doctors" who tried to drive away the spirits.

“Ang pamilya na ito, pinasukan ng masamang espirito, mga engkanto na masama, dahil yung puno na ginawa nilang uling, hindi nila alam na bahay pala ito ng mga engkanto,” said a resident.

The report said local "doctors" had recommended that the family offer black pigs to the spirits in exchange for them leaving the possessed members. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
