P1-M reward up for info on killer of Palawan poll exec

The Puerto Princesa City government in Palawan has offered a P1-million reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer of a Commission on Elections official. Radio dzRH reported Thursday morning that Mayor Edward Hagedorn offered the reward after forming his own task force to hunt the killers of Comelec officer Pete Amorin Jr. The report quoted Hagedorn as saying that Amorin’s killers could be hired professionals, but that the motive behind the murder remains unknown. The Palawan police are still questioning witnesses who likely saw the man who killed Amorin Tuesday night. Sr. Supt. Dennis Peña, Palawan police director, said the killer, most likely a professional from outside the area, was not wearing a mask when he killed Pete Amorin Jr. Citing initial information, he said the murder took place 7:15 p.m. Tuesday across the Comelec office in Puerto Princesa City. Peña said the killer approached Amorin, then shot him in the head and stomach. At least four shells were recovered from the crime scene. He said they are looking into at least three angles, including a business double-cross, love life, and politics. Radio dzBB reported Wednesday Amorin sustained five gunshot wounds from a cal-.45 pistol, two in the legs, two in the legs, and the fatal shot in the nape. - GMANews.TV
