Special permits sought for 221 buses in Iglesia centennial


Bus operators have sought special permits for 221 buses that will be used to bring participants to the centennial of the Iglesia ni Cristo in Bulacan over the weekend.
 
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board is processing the applications, GMA News' Steve Dailisan reported/
 
Also, the report said 200 buses will be dispatched every 30 minutes from the Philippine Arena to prevent traffic congestion at the North Luzon Expressway .
 
For its part, the Bulacan Provincial Police Office said it was on alert for the centennial.
 
Earlier, the LTFRB said bus operators chartered for the INC's celebration in Bulacan should apply for special permits.
 
It said only "duly franchised" buses would be issued such special permits for the July 27 event.
 
Earlier, radio dzBB reported the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority expects some 12,000 buses to ferry INC members to the centennial in Bulacan on July 27.
