NLEX implements counterflow lanes near Iglesia centennial site
Counterflow measures were implemented Saturday evening at parts of the North Luzon Expressway near the venue of the Iglesia ni Cristo's centennial anniversary in Bulacan.
The NLEX said that as of 7:30 p.m., traffic from Mindanao Avenue to the Philippine Arena in the Ciudad de Victoria in Bulacan was heavy.
It said a two-lane counterflow had been initiated, adding southbound traffic from Bocaue to Marilao in Bulacan was heavy as well.
As of 730pm: Heavy traffic from Mindanao to Philippine Arena; 2-lane Counterflow initiated. SB Heavy traffic from Bocaue to Marilao.

The NLEX website showed traffic on the northbound stretch of NLEX from Mindanao Avenue to Bocaue, Bulacan was heavy as of early Saturday evening.
One bus company has already asked its passengers to bear with the traffic.

"We advice passengers today, northbound and southbound, to bring snacks and water, in view of NLEX traffic situation," it said.
The NLEX earlier said it expects 82,000 vehicles to head for the Philippine Arena for the Iglesia ni Cristo's centennial on Sunday. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
