NLEX traffic shows signs of easing near INC centennial event

Traffic at a portion of the North Luzon Expressway showed signs of easing late Sunday afternoon, hours after the centennial celebration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo ended.

On its Twitter account, the NLEX said traffic at the northbound part as of 5:40 p.m. was light.

However, it said the area near the Philippine Arena area where the centennial event was held was still moderate, with one lane counterflow still in effect.

As of 6:02 p.m., the NLEX website indicated traffic at the northbound sections at Marilao and Bocaue in Bulacan remained heavy, while traffic at the southbound part of both areas was moderate.

However, the NLEX also showed traffic at its other sections was light.

Traffic had been heavy at the NLEX since late Saturday, when the bulk of Iglesia Ni Cristo members flocked to the Ciudad de Victoria in Bulacan for the centennial rites. — Joel Locsin/BM, GMA News
