Teen in danger of going blind after playmate shoots him with toy gun
A 13-year-old boy is in danger of going blind after he was hit by a makeshift pellet from a "paltik" (homemade) toy gun last Wednesday.
The boy's right eye was swollen and could not be opened after being hit, according to a report by GMA Bicol's Avril Daja.
"Masakit... Wala raw siyang makita. Sabi ko, hindi naman ako nagkulang sa inyo," the boy's mother said.
She added this should serve as a warning to other parents to be on the lookout against toys that may harm their children.
Citing initial details, the report said the paltik was made of wood, and used "bullets" made from rolled-up pieces of paper.
The 13-year-old has been given pain relievers as doctors at the hospital said he has to have his eye examined by a specialist.
The report said the doctors noticed the affected eye was both swollen and bleeding. — Joel Locsin/JDS, GMA News
