NAIA plane accident felt in Davao, 50 stranded
The accident involving a Saudia jet at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Tuesday evening was felt as far as Davao City.
At least 50 passengers of a Manila-bound flight were stranded after their flight could not push through due of the situation at NAIA, GMA Davao's Real Sorroche reported on GMA News' Unang Balita.
Most of the 50 stranded passengers had to sleep inside the airport, some on the seats and others on the floor.
"Nakiusap kami sa loob (ng airport), kung pwede huwag na kami paalisin doon," said one of the stranded passengers.
By 5 a.m. Wednesday, the situation at the Davao International Airport appeared to return to normal, with the stranded passengers transferred to other flights.
The Davao-to-Manila flight had been scheduled at 8:55 p.m., but could not push through after a Saudia plane got stuck in a grassy part of the NAIA runway.
