Large crocodile caught in Palawan river

(Updated 10:20 a.m.) A large crocodile was caught at a river in Brooke's Point in Palawan province, a radio report said Friday.

The crocodile was caught at Barangay Mambalot in Brooke's Point, RGMA Palawan's James Viernes reported on dzBB radio.

Citing initial information, the report said the crocodile measured eight feet long.

This was less than half the length of Lolong, which briefly held the Guinness World Record as the world's longest crocodile at 6.17 meters (20.24 feet).

Lolong was captured in Agusan del Sur, but died in 2013, effectively ending its hold on the world record.   — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
