2 vintage bombs unearthed in CamSur
At least two vintage bombs were unearthed in Camarines Sur province last weekend and on Monday, briefly causing tension among residents.
Both bombs were found buried in the lot owned by the Valencia family in Barangay Nato in Sagñay town in Camarines Sur, GMA Bicol's Avril Daja reported.
The first bomb was recovered Saturday afternoon and was turned over to the Bicol police's Explosives and Ordnance Division. The second was unearthed Monday and brought to the Sagñay town police.
The two bombs weighed 30 kilos each.
However, authorities said the two bombs are no longer capable of exploding as they were already old. Residents believe the bombs were buried there during World War II.
Following the discovery, local authorities are scouring the area to see if more bombs had been planted there. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
