Cebu City placed under state of calamity

Cebu City was placed under a state of calamity after Tropical Storm Mario brought in heavy rain and flooded various areas, a report form GMA News TV's Balitanghali said Friday.

 

According to the report, the city council called a special session and declared a state of calamity in Cebu around 2 p.m. Thursday.

 

The move aimed to use city funds for relief operations and repair works in the city where flooding has become rampant especially in the Metro Cebu area.

 

There was also a landslide in Talisay City in Cebu. A huge boulder is currently blocking the road where the land slide occured. — Andrei Medina/RSJ, GMA News
