Call center team-building activity in Negros turns tragic, 1 drowns

A call center's weekend team-building activity ended in tragedy in Murcia town in Negros Occidental, after one of the employees fell into a river and drowned.

The incident occurred at 3 p.m. last Saturday when victim Guendolyn Dellera and a fellow call center agent took a dip in the river, GMA Bacolod's Erwin Nicavera reported.

But the current suddenly grew strong and washed the two of them away.

Colleagues and staff members from the resort rescued Dellera's companion but Dellera drowned.

Rescue teams tried to search for Dellera but it was not until Monday afternoon that they found her body.

The call center has not issued a statement, while the resort has tightened its security. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
