Boo! Undertaker selling drugs in Iloilo cemetery nabbed in drug sting
An undertaker's deadly sideline ended Tuesday after he and a companion were arrested in an anti-drug sting operation in Dumangas town in Iloilo province.
The undertaker initially identified as Jubel Diamante, a.k.a. Maoy, 50, was arrested along with Ronnie Rubica, 44, GMA Iloilo's Fabienne Paderes reported.
Dumangas police station head Senior Inspector Charlie Sustento said they had been keeping tabs on Diamante, who allegedly sold drugs to students at a nearby school and to tricycle drivers.
Police said the two would reportedly conduct their transactions inside the cemetery.
"Ang mga suki nito ay mga estudyante sa... college at saka sa high school dahil ang sementeryo ay nasa harap lang ng dalawang paaralan," Sustento said.
But the two suspects denied links to the drug trade.
"Wala akong [kinalaman], hindi 'yan sa akin," said Diamante. Rubica added he merely used the drugs but did not sell them. — Joel Locsin /LBG, GMA News
